Help your clients enhance their healing and build reliance.
As a Yoga Therapist who believes in the benefit of Integrative Medicine, I often work in collaboration with a variety of healthcare professionals, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, rehabilitation specialists, osteopaths, psychotherapists, and physicians who seek to assist their patients and clients by supporting a more holistic approach to healing.
The therapists and specialists that refer to me recognize that a healthy mind/body/breath connection can help in reducing pain and inflammation, regulating the nervous system, and reducing the stress often associated with poor health, while also improving physical and mental resilience. They recognize that yoga therapy is an effective way to build this connection
Maybe you have a client who:
Needs help managing their chronic pain and has tried everything else.
Needs help addressing stress and anxiety, particularly since it is interfering with healing.
Needs help regulating the nervous system.
Needs help reducing muscular tension.
Needs help sleeping.
Needs help (re)connecting with their body and breath due to trauma.
Needs help to maintain and improve their ability to complete functional tasks.
My trauma informed approach draws on my training in anatomy, physiology, biomedicine, mental health and chronic pain management, with my experience working in healthcare teams in the fields of accident rehabilitation (with an emphasis on chronic pain and traumatic brain injury) and mental health, to provide clients with a yoga therapy treatment plan that tailors the yogic tools of movement (asana/postures), breathing (pranayama) and meditation and mindfulness, to offer a safe and individualized practice that supports the treatment offered by you as a healthcare professionals.
I am certified as a Yoga Therapist by the International Association of Yoga Therapists and hold attentional certifications in Mindfulness Based Chronic Pain Management, yoga therapy and malignancy and restorative yoga. I believe that by combining our expertise and working together we can provide clients with a safe, collaborative and holistic approach to healing that allows them to realize their full potential.
