In her previous work at Southdown Institute, she worked as part of a treatment team offering mindful movement and breath mediation to residents dealing with mental health and addiction challenges. She has also worked at Regent Park Community Health Centre Diabetes Education Program, where she has offered small group classes and private sessions to clients managing Type 2 diabetes and she offers a range of therapeutically oriented group classes through the Toronto District School Board Learn4Life program, including Yoga for Arthritis, Chair Yoga for Seniors and Therapeutic Movement & Mediation. She also has additional specialized training in providing yoga therapy for those with cancer.
As a certified Rainbow Kids & Family Yoga Teacher, Nicole teaches children, including those with additional needs, to find the joy and fun in physical fitness while introducing them to mindfulness tools that can serve them in their day-to-day lives. Nicole has taught children yoga at the Red Door Family Shelter and children and family yoga classes at Yoga Grove Studio in Toronto.
Nicole has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. Prior to opening her own private yoga therapy practice, Nicole worked in the legal profession as the director of a university research centre for dispute resolution, where her personal yoga practice helped balance out long days in a stressful environment. Realizing the positive impact that yoga had on her own well-being led Nicole to transition into a career focused on health, wellness in the body and mind.
