Therapeutic Groups & Workshops

Practicing yoga with a small group of people with a similar condition provides more than just an healthcare opportunity, it provides the chance to connect with others facing the same physical or mental health challenges.

For this reason, I offer small group classes and workshops that address specific health needs (e.g. chronic pain, brain injury, Parkinson, anxiety, sleep disturbances).

Mindfulness Based Chronic Pain Management - Starting soon!

The MBCPM is a 12-week trauma-sensitive and trauma-informed program designed to help those living with chronic pain reduce their pain, decrease their stress, better manage their anxiety and improve their overall functioning.

Participants can expect to:

  • Participate in a weekly 2.5h group class where they will connect with other people living with chronic pain

  • Practice mindfulness and meditation (for as little as 10 min/day)

  • Gain an understanding of the connection between stress and mind/body symptoms

  • Enhance self-care practices, including eating, exercising, and sleeping

  • Gain tools to enhance behaviours and self-awareness in relationship with others and with self

When: Wednesday’s 10:00am - 12:30pm, September 27 - December 13, 2023

Where: The course is offered via Zoom Healthcare 

Who: The course is being offered in collaboration with Empowering Mind & Body, a Yoga Therapy and Occupational Therapy provider and Co-facilitated by Nicole Aylwin (Owner, Yoga Therapy & Wellness) and Kristina Borho (Owner, Empowering Mind & Body). Both Nicole and Kristina are trained in trauma-sensitive and trauma-informed MBCPM facilitation.

Cost: $1300 + HST, plus $100 for materials (book & meditation recordings)


SENIORS CHAIR YOGA ONLINE (w/ Nicole Aylwin)

Even if getting to a floor mat is challenging you can still practice and receive all of the benefits yoga has to offer. This 60 min Chair Yoga class includes gentle movement, breathing and a final body scan meditation. No experience with yoga is required. Those with limited mobility are welcomed and encouraged to participate. 

Upcoming Session:

Monday’s 3pm-4pm, August 7, 2023 - November 6, 2023 (No class on Labour Day: September 4 or Thanksgiving: October 9).

Thursday’s 1:15pm - 2:15pm, August 10 - November 9, 2023 (No class on September 7 or October 12 - just to keep the weeks even :) ).

Where: Online via Zoom.

Cost: $160 for 1 class/week, $320 for 2 classes/week payable by cheque or e-transfer
